Tales of customer service hell of Boomerang Data Recovery from MacUpdate

The following are a sample complaints about the poor or just plain lack of customer service from the creators of Boomerang Data Recovery. You can read all the complaints here. Some of the highlights include a disconnected 800 number with no forwarding on the credit card statement.

"Exercising YOUR rights as a consumer (by disputing the charge as a last ditch effort) only gets you listed on cheats-and-liars.com as either a Cheat or a Liar (I'm apparently a liar). They list your name, city/state/zip, IP address, and the amount you've disputed."

"Further to my earlier complaint about the developer's shift from conventional sales to per-use fee, they recently sent me an email claiming that they had, "detected that you are using Boomerang for commercial use". I was doing no such thing – I'm a perfectly regular user."

I paid a lot to use this software once, and I didn't use it for months. They decided to ban my licence without any reason, and try to force me to upgrade. I sent many tickets, no answers ... And I cannot use the software at all ! Several hundred dollars to use a software one time !

"I leave comments on their FAQ (I was not alone in this case), they deleted the topic because of all the negative comments. They have time for this, but not for answering support tickets."
